Hi,

My DD is now 7+3 and she takes absolutely forever to feed. Will this get shorter over time?

Thanks

Probably.
Is she gaining well? Good nappy output? Comfortable for you?

Last week was the first week I managed to feed her without the need for formula due to some problems I'd been having. She had maintained her weight after that week when the health visitor came so hoping for a gain after this week.

Nappies are all fine and this week is the first week where the pain has started to fade (we had problems with thrush so was really painful plus I wasn't rid of the latch pain yet).

She takes around an hour for a full feed from both breasts.

I don't mind it at home (obviously would be great for less time in night time feeds and when I get visitors) but when I'm out and about it's a bit of a drag having to stop for an hour to feed. Especially when feedings atm are every 1.5-2 hours 🙈

Xx

It will get quicker as she gets efficient and your supply is settled (which if you've been topping up, it probably won't be)

I was 'lucky' to have fast flow/ let down so I only ever had to feed one boob for 10 minutes- any more and he'd puke it back!
