Bell for stair gate

Any ideas for a bell or alarm for stair gate. My 9 month old is really on the move now crawling everywhere. We live in a maisonette so have steps straight after front door up to the first floor which is where our living room is. I have fitted a screw in stair gate now and he has already crawled over and stood up against it pushing and pulling it.

What if like is a loudish little bell or that goes off not just when the gate is open but just from shaking it? Just in case he is doing it behind my back and also I want to keep discouraging it...

I don’t know if something like this would be useful as it goes off with vibration. The only thing is I don’t know how loud it is. Maybe there’s one out there that you can adjust the volume on.

I think you just need to trust that the gate will hold and that the novelty will wear off. I’d imagine putting a bell on it will just make it more enticing. I find visiting children always shake our gate, but my own kids don’t bother with it anymore

I'd be very surprised if a 9 month old could push it down? Have you stress tested it with your weight? (Maybe inwards rather than you risking a fall too!)
