3 month old short naps

My baby has never been an amazing napper, but it wouldn't be too unusual for her to nap 1-2 hours at a time. She would nap in the pushchair, in the carrierer or in her cot after being cuddled or bounced.
For about a week now she will wake up after about 30 minutes, almost without fail, no matter where she is asleep. I'm a bit worried that this means she's not getting quality sleep. Is there anything I can do? Is it a phase??

Yeah it’s completely normal and it is a phase! It was quite a long phase in our house when little one was younger. About 3 months until 7 months all her naps were 35 minutes on the dot. You could set your watch by her. Stressed and stressed about it for weeks until I just accepted it. Life got easier when I did

Thanks! Did you end up with her having more naps then, since they were so short? At the moment we're going with a loose 2 hours awake, 2 hours (I wish!) asleep, but I suppose this might not work with shorter naps?

We had exactly the same. It's really normal as they are coming out of that newborn deep sleep ability and are having to learn how to link sleep cycles together. We were half an hour on the dot for months. Like @SS1987 I stressed about it and tried to fix it for far too long. Nothing helped and when I accepted that's how it was, it was easier. He started napping better at about 5/6 months old. He also dropped the third nap insanely early - just try to be led by baby as much as you can and don't stress. It's easy to say I know!

Ds went through a couple of weeks/months like this around the same time. He had quite a few cat naps instead of longer ones. W joy the excuse to sit and cuddle or nap yourself!

He gradually changed to 1.5 hours in the morning and half hour in the afternoon and now (16 months) has 1.5-2 hours after lunch.

My baby still does this at 5 months it’s very frustrating but nothing you can do as I can tell it’s not long enough for him, just hope
It changes as he grows x

My boy is 7 months and naps for 30 minutes on the dot. He’s been like this since 3 months. He still can’t be awake any more than 2 hours so he generally has 4x 30 minute naps a day. If he wakes up from his 3rd after 2.30pm then I just try to persevere through to his 6.30 bed time.
I was jealous for a long time about all the babies around me enjoying 2 hours naps in their buggies!!
He has 1.5 to 2 hours a day in nap times and he sleeps through so it’s ok for us at the moment.

I will add that he was premature so really he behaves more like a 5/6 month old.
