How much to express to maintain my milk supply when on nipple rest and can I do it by hand?

Ok so nipple trauma has deemed me on boob rest for at least 24 hours until we can start again on getting this latch and position right.. if I give my 6 week old bottles in the meantime (he usually only has 1 a day as is combi fed) is hand expressing an ounce from each boob when he feeds enough to maintain my supply? As neither of my pumps can get much more than that (yet I know I have a good supply!). I've ordered the silverette cups to help heal me!

Hi. try and pump every 2/3 hours for 30mins each time

You could try feeding with nipple shields? I did that and it allowed me to heal while feeding

Yes you can hand express. Google Marmet expression technique.
