and why do i feel it is a derogatory thing to be called?
so i have five kids but i also have a brain and a job, cut corners and have times of being a pretty imperfect parent just the same as when i had 1 or 2 kids
what do you think an earthmother is and should i feel offended?

I tend to think of it as when parenting comes naturally rather than worrying about every little thing and checking in a book (of course, MN doesn't count as a book ).

But I do think it depends who says it - my mum says it in a positive way, other people say it in a "you don't wash, have feral children and protest in muddy holes every week" kind of way.
