Boiled water for newborns?

Need some advice please! I have a 4 week old baby boy. He’s a very hungry boy and it’s already on 5/6 oz feeds every 3 hours sometimes we don’t make it that far! I have been recommended by friends/family that a bit of boiled water cooled here and there won’t hurt and will help flush him out and also maybe help to keep him feeling a little fuller.

My question is - has anyone done this and if so how often per day should I do it? And how many oz?

Thanks xx

Newborns should be fed on demand, not to schedule. They don't need anything other than breastmilk or formula.

The trouble is that they say ‘well it never did mine any harm’ and you have to just smile and nod and say I’d rather follow the guidelines. It’s even changed drastically since my sister had her kids 15 years ago.
Anyway no to boiled water.
And no to hungry baby.
My little boy is 7 months and still has 8oz every 3 hours in the day, and solids. All I do is feed him. But then he was premature and had a lot of catching up to do. He follows his line perfectly. My HV was adamant the baby wouldn’t take it if he didn’t need it.
