Kids parties

Sorry if this is the wrong section....

Its a rant really but interested to hear if others have had similar issues. So, sent out invites to my DS' party a few weeks ago and literally have to chase most parents for a reply when it got close to the date.
The party was this morning and 3 people didn't turn up. I messaged all three and one replied that his daughter's mum had 'forgot', one said their daughter was ill and they hadn't had chance to message and another didn't bother replying at all.
I'm a single mum and these 3 no-shows cost me £45 and I struggle to understand how these other parents can't appreciate that it still costs money! Fair enough kids can get ill but to not even bother to message?
As for 'forgetting' I sent a reminder out on Thursday Angry

I would be cross with that as well OP - no excuse really given that you sent them a reminder only two days ago. Hope your DS enjoyed his party.

It's just bloody rude Op! Why can't people just send a polite reply if they have a last minute problem?

Thanks both. Lesson learned, I won't book a party that involved paying per head in future (or keep it to a smaller, more reliable group).
He had a lovely time though!
