This we did this for the first time as I found DS puddlesuit and it was a massive success. No where special, woods or place with trees. DS is 2 and I made him find leaves to take home and jump in puddles.

Any areas of interest? Like a park or beach? If you wrap up warm with wellies.

Its not outdoors but I've made a craft box full of paints, slime stuff and shaving foam ect that I'll be using tomorrow as it's raining and Ive got a bad chest. Hobbycraft sell Halloween stuff currently.

Only other thing I can think of is like a jump jam trampoline place thing but weekends might be a bit rough.

Can get tiny wellies in most places Matalan, Next, etc. Deffo get them out into the weather.

Garden centres are good, especially if they have a fishpond.

Do you have any museums or galleries nearby? Some have little play areas in them.

Definitely puddle jumping!! They love the splashing around :)

I know you said you feel down staying in all day I feel a little like that too but I found even going to a different room in the house helps if you do need to stay in. Sometimes just to get away from the kitchen area ( I am always in there) we make a little picnic 🧺 get a blanket and go to one of the kids rooms, make a den, get the teddy bears out and do a little picnic, reading, jigsaw etc and it feels like a little outing!

My children like looking around a big toy shop. I get myself a coffee and follow them about.

Chocolatecheese · 25/10/2019 20:01

Go to pets at home or similar pet shop and look at the animals for half an hour :)

I put mine in their buggy with the cover on at nap time and go for a long walk.

Nature walk in the rain.
The library or a local museum.
A garden centre to look and marvel at the Christmas decorations with and through your child.
In town to a nice coffee and cake spot.
To visit friends or relatives or have friends and relatives over.
Swimming pool.
Local farm park if you have one with a combination of indoor and outdoor activities.
Lots of possibilities it’s a marvellous age but you appreciate things more if you can escape the four walls.

Mine is 14 months and NOT walking yet! Wet weather fills me with dread (I've been fun lately!🤬) What to do with a crawler/climber?!

Daddylonglegs1965 · 26/10/2019 00:02

I had two children 13 months apart no family support and DH out 12-13 hours a day the house was a tip but if I/we didn’t go out somewhere every day I would have been round the twist. We attended two playgroups and had one afternoon a week at someones House usually mine as I had two and mine both had lunch time naps.
