Sterliser only running for 2.5 mins

The new style tommee tippee sterliser only seems to run for 2.5 mins. Only got it exchanged 2 days ago. Right amount of water. Says it should sterilise in 5. Anyone else have this problem? Is this normal?

I haven’t had that problem but mine has got a burnt heat plate and I’m returning it tomorrow. While googling about this though it appears it cutting out early is a common fault. I think it normally takes 7 minutes so if it’s cutting out at this point it isn’t sterilising. Tommee tippee customer service is just to ask how you clean it and suggest descaling for 24 hours. Ask for a fault code and return to the shop! I’ve switched to a Milton cold water steraliser now- cannot go wrong !

Ohh I will! Had to exchange via tommee tippee to get a code as originally brought in mothercare who were as helpful as a chocolate tea pot. So frustrating! Thank you!

Mine went awful after only a few months. I had MAM self sterilising bottles so just do them in the microwave. They're fab.
