Is ds (year 3) too young to do this

My sons school have a system in place for parents to drop their children off in the car in the school grounds, child exits car and walks straight over to their line whilst parent drives off. There's no age in the school policy. Some parents use this, others drive and park elsewhere and others walk.
I normally walk dc to school or park and walk as traffic around the school can be busy but yesterday morning my husband went off to work taking my double buggy with him so it would have been impossible for me to manage dds so I dropped DS off in the car in the school grounds and watched him as he went straight over to his line. He was quiet happy to do this. However I can't help but wonder is he too young should I be waiting with him until the teacher comes along? The reason I'm asking is dd1 will be starting Montessori in January and if I could drop ds at school at 8:55 id be able to get dd to Montessori for 9:00.

Of course he's not too young. You can literally watch him walk to his line.

I'd ask MN to edit the school name out of your post.

What do you think might happen to him as he walks to his line? Confused

He'll be fine, don't worry.
