I'm a student midwife with two kids at nursery. Just found out my bursary won't even cover childcare. . Does anyone know how I can earn money from home in my spare (ho ho) time?

oh no why doesnt the bursary cover it, are they not paying you enough? are you a single parent?

Apply for Housing Benefit based on low income. Child Tax credits. Student Access fund if your unicersity has one...

I'm student midwife too... its not easy but its doable! Keep going!

you could try doing something like being a an agent for companies like barefoot books, usbourne, or a cloth nappy company, or there are a few clothing companies that you can sell through party type set ups, might be a way of doing it without a huge intital outlay.

MellowMa do you do mystery shopping? What is involved in terms of commitment and how much do you get paid?

Not that much really then. Still no harm to give it a go, is there?

You should go to your SU advice centre or the Student finance office to make sure you're getting all you can - I thought FT students could get up to 85% of childcare costs, but I could be wrong- you need to check. Also ask about the access to learning fund for students in need. Make sure you're getting all you are entitled to before you get another job.

Well mellowma thanks to you I went for it and have just an e-mail saying I have been accepted. How often do you get assignments?

I applied to them a while ago(retail maxim) and they said my application would be processed, but I've heard nothing back from them!
