9 week old constipated

My formula fed 9 week old is struggling to poo.
His poos are normally quite loose and soft but he's not managing to get much out even though he's straining.
It's not like pebbles but I'm worried it will end up like that if I don't prevent it from happening.
Has anybody got any tips on helping my boy poo?

I am absolutely sure you haven’t done this- but has anyone else made up his bottles recently? It’s just that when this happened to my friend’s baby it turned out that her sister was making his bottles with not enough water. She was putting the powder in the bottle then topping up with water not the other way round. I thought I’d mention it just in case...

It can happen with ff babies. Get advice from your health visitor.
