DS's first baby tooth fell out today.
It's currently under his pillow in a little pot waiting for the TF to visit. I told him how much he gets depends upon how clean it is! Back in 1979 i remember getting 50p. How much should DS get? I reckon i can get about 3 pound coins in the pot..see attached pic

£1 here. 20p in the 80s.
Mine have decided between them those that get more dont get it from the tooth fairy because they didn't brush their teeth properly and so their parents put it there. I have never corrected them!

£5 for the first one then £1 thereafter

Hi everyone, thanks so much for all your replies. Astounded at the £20!
Anyway,.DS has just woken up and remembered the little pot. This is what he found inside..£3!
It's so sweet that he really believes it's the Tooth Fairy who has visited (he's nearly 6). Smile

DD got £2 for her first, €1 for the second (because we were going to Disney (and couldn’t find a £1 coin)) and £2 for the third (again, no £1 coin)

Some parents around here apparently give far more 😳

My kids are short-changed Blush They get 50p and are grateful, especially if it’s a non-standard 50p.

Gillian1980 · 15/10/2019 07:19

We used to get varying amounts, sometimes one coin and sometimes a collection of 5ps etc.

We haven’t reached this stage but I think. £1 seems reasonable.

£2 coins in our house - although there were times I regretted starting that trend when a tooth would fall out unexpectedly at 9pm at night and we had no £2 coins in the house!!

We don't need to bother anymore though - she was busted earlier this year Grin

50p seems plenty and what we give. Dd won’t spend it - just saves them all next to her tooth fairy box!
