So I hear! And lots of people on my postnatal thread would agree. DD is 3 months old and I'm ridiculously broody. A friend told me today that it's a trick of nature and if you can wait another few months you'll be rigid with fear at the very idea! DH went into hiding when I mentioned it...

happypiglet · 14/08/2007 16:36

Gosh yes!! I was broody after DS2 when he was 12 weeks old!!! I held off a bit though and have just had DD (DS2 now 22m)

pointydog · 14/08/2007 16:50

Normal enough, yes. I wanted another after 3 months. Lord knows why.

My DD is just 5 months and I love her so much I'd like another one just like her. As she is the youngest of 5, with 15 years between her and her nearest sibling DH went white at the idea and says no way!

JARM · 14/08/2007 17:11

yes! DD1 was only 6mnth when i fell pg with dd2!

Luckily i managed to hold off the urges for number 3, DD2 will be 2.1yrs when DS born

juuule · 14/08/2007 18:09

Completely normal for some people imo (self included).

newy · 14/08/2007 20:16

Phew! Not just me then... not really practical to have another so soon - how on earth do you cope with 2 really close together? (maybe you shouldn't tell me). DH is looking shifty and has started wearing pants in bed to ward off my advances.

Just hang on in there another few mnths and they will become much more interesting and demanding and hopefully you will be reluctant to go back to the newborn stage just yet

yup - I got this with both mine - dh would say that they were still wiping the dew of birth from their eyes, and I'd be planning the next one

LadyTophamHatt · 14/08/2007 21:13

yes.

perfectly normal, IME anyway.

RFCMummy · 15/08/2007 17:23

Yes!! DD2 is 12 weeks and I have been feeling broody for another since I bought her home from hospital!!!

Although I only have to see my pregnant friend feeling awful with nausea to realise that I don't really fancy another 9 months of that just yet!!

Can't see me waiting too long to try for number 3 though, there are only 16months between my two

newy · 15/08/2007 20:34

Seems its a slippery slope. You have one and before you know it, you're the old woman who lived in a shoe...

Hahahaaaaa - I've been broody since the stitches healed! I've hung fire so far (a wholel year!!) but only because I want to lose another stone first...

TheMadHouse · 15/08/2007 20:46

15 months between my two, so IMO yes it is normal.

reindeermum · 15/08/2007 20:50

Yes this is definitely normal for me too. I am broody from when they are only a week or 2 old and definitely by the time they loose their new born curled up quality.

Miaou · 15/08/2007 21:04

When ds1 was 10 days old we decided to have another - currently feeding ds2 ...

Ceolas · 15/08/2007 21:06

And now, Miaou?

Think it's normal. Whether you act on it or not is up to you!

Miaou · 15/08/2007 21:10

The memory of m/s is too fresh, ceolas

Think I'll stick at four!!

Nemo2007 · 15/08/2007 21:11

ha
Broody after DS by 4mths but DD1 was born 2yrs later
I was broody after DD1 within a couple of weeks..hence a 12mth age gap between her and DD2. DD2 is now 7mths and am not broody at all!!!

Ceolas · 15/08/2007 21:12

hertsnessex · 07/09/2007 23:27

StealthPolarBear · 07/09/2007 23:44

yes newy there are lots of us on April 07, me included

LadyOfTheFlowers · 07/09/2007 23:49

I think it is ok to feel broody already.
Ds1 was 4 months old when ds2 was concieved and ds2 is now 1 and i am broody as hell again!

miobombino · 07/09/2007 23:53

Felt v broody 3m after ds2 (21 younger than ds1), but held off for 3 years and really enjoyed dd ....and ds3...

...what is it about that 3m gap so common to so many of the posters ?
