Periods after having baby. Could I be pregnant?!

DD is 11mo. I’m bf and periods came back a month ago. Prior to having a baby my periods were like clockwork every 24 days. Me and DP had some unprotected sex (but didn’t ‘finish’ Blush) a couple of weeks ago. Didn’t think much of it as we did this very regularly for about a year before DD was conceived (the first time he did ‘finish’).

I should be due another period but it’s late. I’ve been having quite severe PMS type symptoms the last week and have bad bloating/cramps - but no AF!

Is it normal to be irregular and strange symptoms as periods return? Or is it possible I’m pregnant? Has anyone fallen pregnant from withdrawal?!

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

The withdrawal method isn't a proven form of contraception due to the pre-cum. There is definitely a possibility you could be pregnant!

Are you able to do a test a couple of days after when you were supposed to be due on?

Good luck, I hope you get the answer you're after Thanks

It could easily be your periods settling or a pregnancy...I also had this at 11mo when BD, test was negative. However I had a positive test the next month!

You’ve had unprotected sex of course you could be pregnant! Hmm

It's possible that your period is just late as you're getting pre menstual symtoms. Or you could be pregnant.
I was pregnant when dd1 was 3 months old, itv was a long time ago now so I don't remember if my periods had even come back.

My 'withdrawal method' baby is now 5.

So yes, you can get pregnant on pre cum.

Tested this morning and bfn, so relieved but also a bit devastated that this is the new PMS Hmm

I researched about pre cum years ago (a wild Friday night in) and remember a study which said some men have sperm present and others don’t. I consider my DH to be in the sperm-less camp, purely because we had the year of using withdrawal with no pregnancy, but then fell on at first proper try. So I’d have been very surprised if I had been pregnant this time round!

Wouldn’t have been the end of the world at all, just a couple of months earlier than ideal. Thanks for the responses, now just to get used to this new hormonal thing...!
