Sick 1 year old HELP

Diarrhoea last 4-5 days went gp who thinks virus will clear up , but now the diarrhoea is worse ! Has now developed a fever and 11 bouts of diarrhoea in last 24 hours !

Any advice ? We went on holiday could it be food poisoning

Is this normal for kids ?

I don't know if it's normal but, in a child that young, I don't think anyone will blame you for taking them back in to the GP to be on the safe side. Hope your baby feels better soon.

Yes it could well be. I’d be going to a and e in case of dehydration.

Are they weeing at all? This is the main problem, if theyre not weeing it means theyre dehydrated and prob need iv fluids. Get them checked again for peace of mind. Your intuition is always a good way of knowing when to get them seen, you know them best, if youre worried then go again

Oh and to add, in a child that young, if youre worried then go somewhere tonight as they can go downhill very very fast

You did the right think OP some docs quickly brush it off saying it will get better (mostly due to pressure of amount of patients they see) , however you did right persisting and trusting your own intuition, things could have been so much worse. Hope you LO is better soon
