Toddler refusing dinner

Hi all, looking for some advice.
My 22 month old has started getting fussy with food but recently has flat out refused dinner, screaming and crying when it's served to him, not wanting to sit up at table etc. He eats otherwise okay. He is teething but will happily eat toast so not sure it's teeth!
What tactics should I use? Should I offer him an alternative? Or just leave him without dinner. He still has a small amount of milk before bed.
He doesn't yet ask for snacks/food unless he sees it out.
Thanks

I would just offer the food you would normally if he eats it then that's great if not I wouldn't worry. I doubt very much he will starve him self. He will eat if hungry. I think it might just be a phase maybe teething too.

@saltnpepper5 thanks. He's been a bit better last few days, have tried eating more as a family etc
But yes he won't starve!
