13 month old kicking off at mealtimes

OH MY GOD. I’m at the end of my rope with DS and mealtimes. He is 13 months tomorrow and used to be a very good eater.

Now the only meal that occurs without screaming and crying is brekkie.

Lunch and dinner are a complete nightmare now. It’s got to the point where we can’t eat out because I can’t guarantee that he won’t completely kick off. It doesn’t matter if it’s finger food or spoons - he pushes spoon away now at almost every meal (unless it’s something sweet) and screams blue murder, arching away from us like we are trying to kill him.

Nursery say he eats like a champ with them so what is the problem?!!!! I feel like I’m failing him.

I honestly don't know and wish I could help. Does he sit at the table with you, in his high chair? Mine did and liked that.

Find out what they feed him at nursery and maybe give him the same.

Hi! My DS is the same (14mnth) .. EVERYTHING he is given is thrown on the floor and he refuses to eat it. Now we just let him throw it and ignore it, we have a mat down (Some people use shower curtains) and now we just let him out of his chair and he eventually eats it! its frustrating but its the only thing thats keeping him eating anything. -Hope this helps! x

I'm thinking of taking a half day from work so I can go and spy on him having tea at nursery to see what's happening.

He eats the same types of things at nursery as he gets at home: lasagne, stir fry, sausages potato and beans etc

After refusing dinner last night with us, nursery day today he practically ate them out of food today and had SECONDS of tomato and veg pasta !!

What am I doing wrong?

Exactly the same here op and it is driving me mad. 14 months old. Has double portions of everything at nursery including vegetables. He will not touch vegetables with me. Might have a try of certain foods I offer him but will not finish a meal. It is so frustrating. But I am just trying to not make a deal about it. He also eats a bit better if I completely ignore him and just leave him to it
