Help! I can’t feel my arms

My 8 week old won’t let me put her down during the day. She just wants to be picked up and screams the moment I put her down. She stops as soon as she sees me approaching lol. She is fine at night in her Moses basket but won’t sleep in it during the day. I have bought a carrier but I get back ache after a while. She feeds (bf) for comfort. If I let her cry for too long she gets so upset it scares me. Will she grow out of it? Will a dummy help? I love her to bits but arms are aching any advice will be much appreciated. She’s fine in pram and car as long as they are moving.

My second was like this - you have my sympathy it was bloody exhausting!!

Do you have a sling library in your area? I know you say your carrier hurts your back but a different one may work so it's worth trying a few if you can.

We tried a stretchy sling but I wasn't keen, tried another at the library and honestly it saved my sanity! I even learnt to feed her hands free on the school run which was a god send.

A battery operated chair swing thing saved my sanity with my high needs baby. From Mamas & Papas I think. Ours was suitable 0-6months & by 6 months she was way less needy so we didn't need it anymore..
It might work for you given your little one is fine when moving. You turn it on,it gives them a gentle swing & you have 15 minutes to pee/shower/eat in peace.

Also try a dummy? Dd had one when she was poorly or teething when tiny and we easily weaned her off it before age 1.

Thank you these sound like good ideas. I will ask dh to get a swing asap. Was planning to get a dummy tomorrow hope she takes to it. Not heard of a sling library but I will look into that. The 1 I have is from mothercare and we have tried adjusting straps but my back starts hurting. I think if I could find a better one that would be great
Thank you for the advice. Glad there’s hope :)

My 4 week old DS is the same. He won't be put down for more than 5 minutes without screaming.

He has a dummy but will only take it at certain times.

I am.exhausted! He even hates the sling now. .

Good luck to you OP!

Ah yes, the swing!! I forgot about that - I did them as a lazy gimmick with number 1 then tried one in desperation for number 2. I was so happy I almost cried when she could be put down without screaming! Bliss 😁

Ours was £10 from local Facebook page so definitely worth a look.

My dd hated pram (barely used - such a waste of money), car, being flat ever, dummy, swing, bouncy chair, jumperoo, the only thing she sort of liked was being in a carrier outward facing, from very new. I did have a baby Bjorn hand me down to begin with but invested in an ergo 360 and it was much better for my back. She hated stretchy wrap ones too. Get yourself to a sling library!

When she could stand I got her one of those fun pods things so she could stand and watch me cook, otherwise she would be on the floor screaming or I'd be trying to chop with one arm. She was such a nightmare baby! She's a pretty good toddler though Smile
