Is my child's father being unreasonable?

Just want other peoples opinions please as I think this is an unreasonable request but I need to check it's not me who's wrong. He sees our 9 month old baby once a week on a weekend day for a couple of hours but he now wants me to take our son to his house after his work one night a week for an hour, with me there also. Taking into consideration it's not my place to travel to facilitate contact, We live about a 25 min drive there and back away from each other, and he doesn't finish work until 5ish it would mean taking a tiny baby out the house in the dark cold freezing and potentially icy/snowy nights? I think this is an unreasonable request and he's not thinking of our baby's best interests to even ask this?. Opinions please?

Sod that. If he wants to see the baby he can come to you after work.

Raphael34 · 03/10/2019 20:57

Is he dictating the travel arrangement and the hours? Would you be happy for him to have your son longer and without you if he picks up and drops off?

It is up to him to visit his child. You aren’t his nanny or his taxi driver.

I’d say no.

Does your ex drive? Is there any reason he can’t travel? No car?

If he stops work at 5 he can easily come to you in time to do bedtime.

Windydaysuponus · 03/10/2019 21:03

In this instance facilitate =enable a lazy twat.
It's a no from me...

Mamabear500 · 03/10/2019 21:04

He does drive and he could easily come to mine but he hasn't even mentioned that option. It seems like he doesn't want to be bothered doing the travelling after work

Your baby isn't a pizza and you aren't a delivery driver.
He knows where you live. He needs to sort out his priorities and learn how to be a df...
And do not let him into your home. Hand on heart he would sit on his arse while you ran around after the dc wouldn't he?

@Raphael34 in his words "it would be nice for the three of us to spend time together for an hour in my house even if it was one night a week for an hour and you could bring him up". In my eyes it's a manipulative way of getting out of doing the travelling to see his son. I think him picking our son up at that time of night considering the travelling distance, his age and other factors then bringing him back home would be disruptive to baby's routine. Baby's father has never lived with us or made the effort to come and do any bathtime/bedtime routines etc.

"it would be nice" for whom?
Certainly not you. And the baby probably wouldn't give a shit either.
Say no.

Mamabear500 · 03/10/2019 22:08

@CallmeAngelina exactly my thoughts. Thanks everyone , You know how sometimes you just need that clarification from others that you aren't the one that's being crazy by not agreeing
