Struggling with toddler sleep

Please can anyone help? I am at my wits end. My DD, 2.3 is a nightmare when she wakes in the night. She wants me to lay in her bed with her but she doesn't go back to sleep. I try standing at the door but no matter how many times I put her back in bed she gets out. I'm ending up in tears because I've been ill for over a month. Struggling to work full time as a single parent due to lack of sleep.

Can anyone advise because I'm not sure how much longer I can cope

I’m sorry, not any great advice but bumping for you as I’m a exhausted from lack of sleep too. Could you put a mattress on the floor next to her bed and you sleep there? Can you put her in a cot instead of bed?

I have a mattress on the floor too but she will lay there for ages just not going to sleep and when I try to leave she cries even more. I struggle to get back to sleep down there.

She won't stay in a cot anymore unfortunately and she's even started to climb the stair gate so that might have to come off soon.

Sorry to hear you are in the same situation Thanks

Could you bring her into your bed? I had to do it for a short period when my DD was waking during the night and wouldn't go back to sleep in her own bed, it was the only way either or us would get any rest. It lasted a week or two and then she just stopped waking up during the night again.

How long has it been going on for? My 2 year old goes through stages of thiS but it tends to pass. It’s my baby keeping me awake these days. But that’s another story.
With my toddler I had to lie by cot. Taking her into my bed just meant she scrambled all over me.Flowers it is so crap and I hope you get some sleep soon

I had this at the same age. Eventually, exhausted, I came downstairs and strapped them in to their pushchair so I could get some sleep on the couch if necessary. I kept them in view of me but paid no attention to them. They were asleep in minutes! Which I didn't expect at all. I then had a routine going for a couple of months of strapping them into their pushchair every evening and then carrying them up to their bed as soon as they were asleep. Might be worth a try. Before this, my DC never slept in the pram, but now has naps in their regularly too.

Thanks for the comments.

Last night I ended up laying on the floor next to the bed but it took her 2 hours to get to sleep. When she woke in the night I quickly went straight to the floor again and she went back to sleep quickly. She woke again about 6 and ended up coming into my bed and then slept til 8.

I think I'm just going to have to roll with whatever to get her to sleep and hope that it passes.
