How long after milk comes in do boobs settle down?

My milk came in yesterday and my boobs are so sore and hard. It eases after my baby has had a feed bu within half a hour they are like rocks again. I know this is normal but I'm just wondering how long they'll be like this for before they settle down?

Not long, from memory. Few days of proper feeding? Assuming no blocked ducts and a good latch. Once you and the baby get into a rhythm it all settles down. That took 5-6 weeks with my DC. But the rock hard and sore boobs was just the first few days.

God I yearn for breastfeeding boobs. Now they’re like two little acorns hanging out in a wrinkled old pop sock!

It was about a week for me. Getting in a hot shower and expressing with your hands between feeds really helps.

About a week.

The worst of it should settle down within a couple of days. Just keep the milk flowing!

Thanks everyone, good to know it won't last too long! I've tried hand expressing and hot shower but they're still rock hard again before he's ready to feed again. I'll just keep going and resist the urge to pump!
They do look amazing though!!
