Grumpy baby when weaning

I have just started to try my 6 month old with some food. Only spoon feeding - porridge, pureed veggies etc. The first few times she seemed to be off to a great start and enjoyed it but recently every time we try, she just grumbles which then turns into crying. Sometimes she point blank refuses. Sometimes she eats a spoonful between the crying!! I’ve no experience whatsoever with weaning so i’ve just no idea? I’m scared the food gives her tummy ache? Any one had similar behaviour?

The main thing is to stay relaxed and keep it fun/enjoyable for her. Take the pressure off both of you, as her main source of nutrition is still milk. Mine took 2/3 months to start 'enjoying' food. It's a new experience, her teeth could be sore, and yes her tummy will take time to adjust so just take it slowly. Mix it up with some soft finger foods too, to make it more interesting for her

My boy was like this, I found it so stressful. I left it a couple of weeks, just giving the odd taste here and there when he seemed interested. Then when I started again just introduced one meal at a time (I started with dinner) and made sure he wasn't starving. I think it took some getting used to having mouthfuls of food rather than a constant flow of milk to satisfy his hunger. There's no right or wrong way, it's just finding what works for you.
