Haven't heard from a HV since DD was 12 weeks - normal?

My DD is 8 months old and a HV hasn't been in touch since she got weighed at 12 weeks. Is she supposed to be being checked? I'm a FTM so don't know if this is normal I'm just checking after reading something on another thread.

Is there not normally a check around now? Do they have a drop in clinic?

I don't think I even saw mine that long. You can take baby to a weigh in clinic to check they are progressing normally but honestly if there are no concerns then you really don't have to. I went every two weeks for ages with my first. I barely took my second because in general I have not had good experiences with them and I was much more confident second time around.

I didn't see one between 8 weeks and 10 months! I think it varies by area though. There should be a drop in clinic near you for weighing baby and talking to a HV if you want to.

HV stopped contact from when my DC was 8 weeks as well. Told us that we don't need any further visits but if we have any concerns to contact her or the general helpline. I am sure i got one random catch up telephone call from HV around when DC was approaching 6 months. I was initially having DC weighed every week at local HV clinic when newborn, and then every month. I can't remember at what age i started having DC weighed monthly, but this was following advise given by a HV at the clinic. Since turning 1 have been getting DC weighed every three months ,again following advise received from HV at clinic. DC also got a development check somewhere between 10-12 months which was a pre-arranged appointment at a HV clinic. They weighed DC and checked height and head circumference etc. They also sent two questionnaires to complete and bring to the assessment. There is another development check at about 2 years and 4 months.

We went to the baby clinic once a month for a weigh in and then for the 10 month review. I did call our HV once with a query but she didn't need to see us.
