Ive been swaddling my new born in the carrycot since day 1 and she's now 3 weeks old and still swaddling. How do other people put there new born in a carrycot? Also if they were swaddled how long roughly did you do this for? Xx

You can keep swaddling until they roll. I did it for naps and then a looser swaddle at night as she was sleeping well. The velcro ones are great. I've put her in a sleeping bag now but may swaddle again as her nights haven't been as good. It just depends how dependent they become as sometimes it's hard for them to get used to sleeping when you stop swaddling. Do you mean how do you get them in carrycot without waking them?

Thank you for your reply :) I have tried to not swaddle her but she startles and then wakes up xxx

I know, it's a pain, just do whatever you can to get her to sleep. She's so young, you won't form any habits. And habits can be broken anyway! Swaddling is great and the moro reflex will disappear in a few months. It's much easier to put them down swaddled and will often help them get into the next sleep cycle.
