ok
i have 3x motherease one size thingys from waitrose. also 3 of the extra pop on bits (booster?) and some of the wraps.

frankly, they are a bit of a faff, and seem to be soaked through in no time. and the wraps are rubbish (fit feels wrong IYSWIM)

and i have one al in one thingy (including the waterproof outer bit) that i got in sainsbuggers yesterday... to see if any different.

reckon i can get on with the easy peasy all in one numbers... they have a velcro fastening and seem to have a booster bit sewn on? this also appears to be open to allow extra padding? is that right?

can someone tell me the best, most absorbent, easy to use allin one options available? and with booster things for nighttime.

TIA

have to go out now, but will check back later - not ignoring anyone!

no liner needed as previus op says it just kinda peels of quite literally - then you just whip out the inner and chuck them in your storage container (dry) - urghh no soaking in our house! The on wash day just bung em in, dry em and restuff - hey presto!! pockets really do rock!

LizaRose · 12/08/2007 10:53

I don't soak, I remove the worst of the poo, then put the nappies in a dry lidded bucket. Every morning I empty the nappies into the washing machine and do a rinse cycle, then add the rest of my washing and the soapnuts and do a normal 40 degree wash. This is what the majority of people on this board seem to do

tranquilamanana · 12/08/2007 11:04

what, even really soft or runny poos?

if its removable easily enough i would wipe it of with loo roll but generally if it dont shake of easily it stays on! I dry stire mine and then about every 3rd day i chuck em in the washer - do a cold rinse, followed by a 40 degree wash then sometimes with another cold rinse if i feeling generous.

tranquilamanana · 12/08/2007 11:24

really??
well ok. if you all say it, i'll give it a go..

LizaRose · 12/08/2007 11:29

If the poo is soft/runny it gets all over the nappy even if you use a paper liner. I never soaked as people on here said it creates a "poo soup" and actually makes the nappies smellier. It mostly comes off in a rinse cycle, but I find I need to wipe out the seal around the door of the machine with a paper towel as a few yukky bits accumulate there.

tranquilamanana · 12/08/2007 13:33

yuk!

tranquilamanana · 12/08/2007 16:09

just changed his disposable nappy again (the 4 washables i have have been drying on rack all day, tumble playing up grrr) and hes gone all sore all over his nappy area again. after being clear, apart from willy, yesterday.

need to get him out in the garden for some fresh air... have ordered about 8 nappies from 2 diff places so far, and will get more when flame gets in touch. just want them to come now!

nappyzone · 12/08/2007 18:27

oh the anticipation of waiting for fluff! our postman is scared of me as im a bit crazed when it comes to fluff deliveries!

tranquilamanana · 12/08/2007 18:29

how long will it take? how long will it take? how long will it take? how long will it take? how long will it take? how long will it take????

yes. im a little excited. does it show?

tranquilamanana · 12/08/2007 18:31

oh, nz -i just added one of the fleecy wraps to the order... is it too late to bung it in with the rest?

dying for flame to be about and order my wonderoos.

FlameBatfink · 12/08/2007 18:45

I'm getting it all sorted as soon as the kids are in bed - will you be around after about 7.30pm?

nappyzone · 12/08/2007 18:56

ooo you have the makings of an addict , i am very efficient so had already parcelled it up so will kinda bung it all in a bigger bag if i can find one big enough! Are there any strikes this week? I expect you could have my lot for Tuesday if royal mail has caught up! Hope your enjoy getting lots of nice stuff - kinda makes me want something new too.... Ahh my happy heinys might just arrive this week if customs hasnt snaffled them!

tranquilamanana · 12/08/2007 20:35

any excuse to shop, eh? its a wonder i havnt cottoned onto this earlier actually

yes flame, am about now (all 3 dc in bed, in same room, in proper bunk beds )

FlameBatfink · 12/08/2007 20:59
Grin
tranquilamanana · 12/08/2007 21:03

ooooh youre there!

am on email to you at mo... and in process of ordering... if you wouldnt mind fielding my inane questions for a mo... ta!

tranquilamanana · 12/08/2007 21:08

so, will a wool wrap for nightime, actually contain the wetness? (obv provided theres enough bamboo underneath.... say...a bamboo shaped or one size with a quick flip inside, then a wool wrap on top??)
no wet sheets?

FlameBatfink · 12/08/2007 21:11

lmao @ us talking through email and MN

tranquilamanana · 12/08/2007 21:27

lol. mee too.

so?will it??

FlameBatfink · 12/08/2007 21:55

Sorry - yes it will - like the fleece wraps let it slowly evaporate, the wool absorbs some and then evaporates. No wet sheets unless nappy AND wrap are completely sodden.

Tranquila · 15/08/2007 17:44

well...

my little bumgenius looks great in his new nappy! he is wearing his 'butter' one right now

nappyzone · 15/08/2007 20:20

oh brill - glad they arrived safely! what do you think - i love em, the butter colour is lovely i think but not that popular for some reason. Today i received my happy heiny onesizes in the cow print - they look fab, a similar onesize system to bg but with far chunkier heiny aplix 'arms'covered in the print too iyswim.

I really wanted one on my boy but my fist batch are ocmpletely preordered - more due in the next day or so though. Oh the fun!

Tranquila · 15/08/2007 20:26

well... 2 shitty nappies in an hour before bed has somwhat taken the shine off the excitement i have to admit.
first was in the BG, and it was squidgyand no, it didnt 'peel' off the fleece. yikkety yuk.
then put him in a motherease with poppered on insert thingy and a fleece liner for goodmeasure (i used that dog wrap on top - how funny is that??)
as i ddint want to 'waste' one of the lovely BGs for only anhour before bed. he promptly crapped again... and it didnt peel off this time either. ended up with bog roll trying to scoop off the bulk of it into the loo...

havnt had any dinner yet either.

Tranquila · 15/08/2007 20:28

god, the whole nappy + insert + liner + wrap debacle is a bit of a PITA isnt it??

MUCH prefer the BG

nappyzone · 15/08/2007 20:32

i agree - i always put mine in a two parter for his after tea to bed nappy after his teatime poo as i dont want to waste my pockets. I could never use a 'three' parter nappy through the day now - hes to much of a mover anyway to keep pinned down! - enjoy your tea! yeye for BG!! On a firm poo day it will 'peel' off honestly!
