Vomit but no diarrhea, guesses to what this is?

My seventeen month old first threw up yesterday morning on her way to crèche, we realised she had a fever so she came home. She slept most of the day, didn't want to eat. Seven hours later she had a snack but threw it up about an hour later. She threw up her milk last night and this morning. She has a temperature but nothing too major. When she had gastro it was thick and fast for a couple of hours, both ends. But she's had no diarrhea and the vomiting is lasting longer but is only after eating. Any idea what this is? Is this a form of gastro? I'm still waiting to hear back from my doctor, I want to know whether I should keep trying to feed her. If you've had similar, how did you treat it? Also I'm pregnant and wondering whether I should be bracing myself for getting this too!

Yes, it’s some form of tummy bug. Mine usually only get diarrhoea towards the end, but there is about 2 days of vomiting after meals first. I’d keep offering fluids and any sort of easy food she is happy to have. Hope she’s better soon.

You may get it, but it wasn’t as severe for me. I felt nauseous and a bit like I was coming down with the flu, but nothing worse than that.

Is she doing normal poop and breaking wind?
Is she intermittently very upset with a tummy aches but it gets better?

Is the food digested or semi digested or coming back as it? Is vomiting effortful with dry gagging first or just open mouth and out it flows?

If she isn't pooing at all, especially if she isn't breaking wind, if she has intermittent belly pain and food pretty much undigested it could" be a blockage such as intussusception. This is unlikely but something to be aware of.

Thank you both! Abstracted, she's breaking wind but didn't poo yesterday. I think she has some tummy cramps last night but otherwise her mood is picky but ok. Her food is semi digested when it's coming back up and definitely free flowing!

Fingers crossed this passes soon.

I quite often have a vomitting bug but nothing from the other end! Hope she gets better soon.

DS had a vomiting bug last week and only vomited a handful of time and then once a night for a couple of days. He kindly passed it on but it certainly wasn't both ends and constant (unlike poor DH 🤢)

Sounds like a dreaded bug.. often the upset bum starts after the vom in my experience!

Fingers crossed you don’t catch it 😬 stomach bugs are my greatest fear!
