Baby bad breath

Hi all,

Looking for advice. My baby is 11 months old and really suffering at the moment - she has conjunctivitis, a bad chesty cough and runny nose and teething as well :( it's most probably related to all that but she also has really foul breath at night and in the morning - I do brush her teeth twice a day but just looking for any advice on any of the above. We took her to the doctor who said it was a virus so unable to do anything but wait it out.

Any tips for helping her with all of this?

Thanks

Oh bless her! I would guess it's just due to the illnesses. My teeth always feel horrible when I've got a cold and have to do extra brushing. Give her a mint leaf to nibble on?

It'll be because of her blocked nose. She'll be breathing through her mouth and mouth breathing causes bad breath.
I can't remember why though 🙈

Partly I think it’s the bacteria on the tonsils.

Hmm, I wouldn't expect a baby to have bad breath with a cold. Did you mention it to the doctor? Did s/he examine the baby's throat and nose? My concern would be tonsillitis or a foreign body (food) stuck in the nostril.
