Hi all. Please can I get some advice on how to stop my 4 year old daughter from getting so preoccupied with looks. She has always been a' girly girl' liking princesses and hairdresssers and make up etc but she's now saying things like I need to put make up on and a dress to look pretty or if I brush her hair etc then she will run and look in the mirror. I am not a girly mum myself and don't wear make up and always try and reiterate to her it's what is on the inside that counts but it's not working. I'm worried if she's like this now what will she be like when she gets older but am unsure what else to do to instill that looks don't matter?
