Morning All,
my 10 month old DD is a strong healthy child but my goodness she will not eat solid foods for us. She is bottle fed, still wakes for a feed during the night. Weaning started off well at close to 6 months but since "first tastes" things have gradually gotten worse. Its a struggle to get a few spoons of breakfast into her and after that it's hit & miss what she'll have. Spoon feeds are rejected: she closes her mouth, turns her head and pushes the spoon away. Finger foods are thrown overboard from the high chair tray. I have raised it with our nurse and GP who have told me that she is on too many bottles (4 or 5 7oz bottles during a 24 hour period, but she rarely finishes these bottles). I genuinely don't think this is the issue - for example if she has a feed early during the night, when she wakes in the morning she is put straight into the highchair for breakfast, but she will still not take food. Surely she would be hungry after a 4 or 5 hour stretch from the milk feed. I don't know if I need to pursue this down a medical road or are there any tips or tricks I should use? Back to work in a weeks time from maternity leave and just starting to settle her into her childcare. Would appreciate any words of wisdom please.
