Pre-School Visit: what am I looking for?

Am starting to look at pre schools now for DD ahead of her starting when shes 3. Up until now shes been looked after by family so I have no experience of external childcare. What sort of things should I be looking for/asking in these visits? Any tips or advice would be welcome!

A mixture of the two. Can manage without the childcare as already have sufficient at home but I think DD will benefit from extra stimulation and also socialising
