So my other half decided he was going to descale the steriliser but he used a descaler that was under my sink in cleaning products I'm sure it's for kettles and this happened is my steriliser now ruined it looks to me like the element has burnt I'm not sure if this is still going to be okay or if I need to buy a new one ?? Any help would be appreciated

Mine looked like that after I descaled with white vinegar. Still worked perfectly with no probs for the next 8 months.

Maybe run a couple of sterilising runs without bottles, just water , to make sure no lingering chemical smell etc

It doesn't matter that the descaler is for kettles - they all do the same job. Your steriliser looks fine.

You can show the picture to tommee tippee customer service (email it to them). They will be able to advice.

Ours went like that but still works fine Smile

Jowd92 · 08/09/2019 14:03

It doesn't give off a smell when it's on a cycle and I have contacted tommee tippee to see what they say I have currently finished using it for my little boy as his 13 months now but it was being cleaned to put away as I'm due again in december and didnt want to have to buy new again as I thought this one would still be fine until my partner got hold of it lol!
