Its my ds birthday next month he will be two.
Decided against having a party- he had a lovely big first birthday last year for his first. But he nor friends would never appreciate or understand until around school years , so 4 upwards ? I would rather spend the money and go somewhere for the day just us as a family and then have a small get together for immediate family and his cousin who is the same age..

This is ok isn't it?

What presents did you get and how did you celebrate ?

My mum and sister spent the weekend with us. DS adores them. Think we went out for a sunday lunch.

My son turned 2 in August. For his first birthday we had a little party with friends, but this year we didn't. Partly because he doesn't care anyway and partly because he had a phase where he was quite uncomfortable around other (small) children.
We planned to go to the petting zoo, but then there were some unexpected negative happenings, so we just stayed at home. We had a special breakfast, went to the playground (the same one we go to almost everyday, because that's what he loves) twice that day and in the afternoon had presents and cake. We didn't invite anyone, it was just our small family.
We actually felt bad for not doing anything special, but that's just stupid, since at 2 years old they really don't care and he had a lovely day and loved his presents.

Btw, these were his presents:

DS' 2nd birthday isn't til April but I want to take him to one of the vintage railways - he loves trains! No idea about presents at the moment though. The 4 present rule is always good (want, need, wear, read) if you're in a pinch

For all four DC second birthdays we've done the same thing, zoo trip then drop in tea party with various relatives.

Presents were,
DD play kitchen,
DS1 train set,
DS2 mini micro scooter,
DS3 waterway play set

My DS turned 2 on Monday and we had a great day! Was nice and relaxed tbh we went to play group in the morning cos he loves it where they sang happy birthday then in the afternoon we went on a red squirrel woodland walk then had a drop in tea (buffet food and cake) with family. He loved all his presents (scooter, new bath toys, wooden kitchen etc) and has kept him occupied the past couple of days too Grin

We went to the aquarium and had family over for cake. Cake and the helium balloon were the highlights for DD. Can't remember what presents we got but we limited it as unwrapping lots was overwhelming and it took several days anyway!
