Up until a couple of months ago ds was happy and pleasant and lately shouts. Seems frustrated and unhappy.
No screen time or anything I can think of to trigger things. Is this just a phase? Really sad to see a change. Advice really welcome.

Try and talk to him is it since the hols or before?...

Since the hols. Maybe lack of routine. Lots of fun. I talked to him and he says I don't know. He's a deep thinker. Other child more carefree. Not sure what way to approach this

Try drawing with them and sharing your drawings explain to them what you have drawn descriptively, encourage them to do the same and praise them. Then draw something that you can refer to that makes you angry but at the same time draw something that makes you happy and calms you down and refer to it like this, you will be surprised they may copy you and do the same on their next drawing that tells you what is wrong and teach them how to calm down or realise they can ask you to help them deal with what is upsetting them
Worked with my little man now drawing calms him down when he is angry not that he gets angry much now. Don't leave it at the angry drawing continue to draw to take the focus away have fun.

Thanks so much. He was always so pleasant and eager to please. This is a huge change. We have had to put firmer boundaries not letting him scream and shout but I am worried something is wrong. He is always with one of us (dh and I) so maybe going back to school will break the cycle / more routine.
