Bottle Feeding do I up the amount?

Please help with advice .. I have a 4month old baby girl who sleeps through the night then has 5 feeds of 6oz every 3 hours in the day. She is finishing the bottle and cries when it's taken away from her when empty. She's quite content after winding and doesn't particularly get grumpy near feed times so never desperate for a bottle. But today someone said they thought she should be 7oz as she cries because she's still hungry?? I'm a new first time mum and everything I read says not for her to be on 7oz but this person is a very experienced mum.. what should I do?? Your advice is welcome, thank you.

Yes of she's finishing the bottle then add an extra ounce to each

I have a 4 month old (nearly) and allow an extra ounce. Always one up so she doesn't drain it. She doesn't always have it all but it's there for when she's having a growth spurt.

Where does it say not to give more? You're supposed to feed to appetite

On most of the sites it says to feed 4-6 oz and up the amount at 6months old.. I suppose it doesn't say not to but generally the way I have read it is that they seem to not recommend it and stick to their guidelines.. she has only just turned 4 months so wasn't sure what to do as she hasn't seemed unsettled or hungry it was just that she cried when her bottle was finished but soon stops..

Hi op i would probably just make up a 7oz feed and see how she gets on.
My babies would consume so much milk........we did hungry formula from about 16weeks.........and they never slept through!!

Thank you I'm going to try her tomorrow on 7oz if its too much we'll soon find out... I am super lucky with her sleep but we'll see how long it lasts!!

You should be feeding on demand so rather than feeding at set intervals feeding when she shows feeding cues. You should also be allowing her to decide when she is finished so there should always be milk left over in the bottle when she has finished.
