Uppababy mattress protector advice for basinnet

Hi I have the uppababy basinnet. For all my other mattresses I have bought a waterproof mattress protector. Would this be recommended for basinnet too? Also would it be a standard Moses mattress protector id need? Would I use the one uppababy supplied also? Or would that be too much?

Hi, I didn’t have a waterproof protector as the mattress is breathable and I didn’t want to change that, for baby safety and for comfort in warm weather.. Sorry not exactly what you were asking!

Same here as previous poster- I don’t think waterproof protectors are recommended for small babies as they're not breathable. I just tucked a muslin round the mattress and washed the cover if it got dirty or sicked on. You can also just use a normal cotton Moses basket sheet to cover it which would be safer than a waterproof one.

Yes exactly, and I just remembered that sometimes a normal pillowcase will do as a sheet! Just tuck the corners underneath. There’s no need to buy special fitted bassinet sheets which only have a limited use.

The mattress comes with a removable cover, there should be a zip to take it off. I also use a muslin cloth for double protection.
