Miss my baby being a chubster

My baby used to be really chubby. But since weaning, he’s started eating and cutting down on the bottles, he’s losing his chubbiness.

He’s not underweight and his weight loss isn’t worrying as he’s still big for his age but he’s not chubby anymore. He eats well but just not a lot.

He has two 9oz bottles now compared to 6 6oz bottles before weaning.

I don’t really give sugary food except for yoghurt and rice pudding (going to start making my own so it has no sugar).

Is there anything else I can give him to make him chubby again? Or is this normal?

No it's normal

DS has never been chubby, he was a tiny birdlike preemie and is now heavier (50th centile, up from 2nd), but long, lean and strong. Why would you want to fatten up your baby if they're not underweight?

Because he’s lost weight so everyone has been commenting how “skinny” he has gone. I think he was overweight before, I don’t necessary want him to be that again but do miss his chubby cheeks!

I miss his chunky rolls etc. Maybe I’m just missing him as a baby and don’t want him to grow up!

You didn't say how old he was, has he started crawling yet? My chunky DS has lost of lot of chub now he's constantly crawling round at 1,000 miles an hour and he's starting to look like a little boy rather than a baby. He only has one chin now! So I can see why you're upset, but if he's not dropping centiles I wouldn't take action about it.
