Unhappy 6 wk old but not much crying - cranial osteopathy

My 6 wk old had lots of wind pains. Since changing the position I feed him in and using Infacol this seems to be passing (he has very very loud burbs and farts now - Is this normal?). But he is still unhappy when he wakes, hates going to sleep, rarely smiles but does in the morning occasionally. Nothing I do seems to calm him down - he is always shifting about and whimpering.

He does cry when we're trying to put him to sleep but it's not uncontrollable, in that he always calms down with a breast in his mouth!

I just don't know if it's his personality or if I can do something to help.

I'm finding it difficult to come to terms with him finding no consolation in a cuddle from me. Please help
