Toilet training issues

So my DD is 3 years 8 months and has been late to toilet train. We started a week ago after she found a potty she really liked whilst at the in-laws and started to use it for wees. She’s been a superstar over the last week and has told me when she needs to go. She’s only had one wee accident and i’m really proud of her! However, she has not got the poos at all and has had several poo accidents in her pants including three today. She isn’t telling me when she needs to poo, is pooing in her pants and then happily carrying on playing. I need some reassurance that this is normal and won’t last long! I don’t want to put her back in nappies but i’m getting a bit fed up of sorting out pooey pants. 😩

Some kiddos are later so don't stress too much. She is telling you she needs to pee and the next step will be poo,I promise!
My son learned the hard way about the poop part.We didn't know he had pooped and ended up with a diaper rash!At over 3 years old!Poor thing...And it was underwear from then on.
But she will get there, she's already well on her way!!💗

Will reassurance that it's normal but might last long be of any help!? Confused

I think it's just a slow process, we trained dd at Xmas when she was just over 2, she still has the odd accident or regression. Some kids might train like the flick of a switch, others take longer.

We used the oh crap! Book, might be worth taking a look.

I'd be firm that poos go in the potty, if she does one make sure that changing her is boring not fun, don't be mean but spell out that it means taking her away from toys and it's quicker/easier to do it in the potty etc.
