Formula feeding 4 week old- how much how often?

Hi all

I've recently switched from breastfeeding to formula (4 days ago).

He's had the odd 6oz feed which I thinks probably too much for his age, but mostly he's only taking 3/4oz but only going like 2-2.5 hours between feeds. Is that normal? HV told me he should be going at least 3 hours. Even the occasions he's had 5/6oz he still seems to be hungry before 3 hours is up. Unless he's having a mammoth nap (not often enough lol)

He's a big baby, 9lb 4 at birth and was 11lb when he was weighed 4 days ago.

My baby was like yours I didnt do the 'every so many hours' she was 8.6 when born, breast fed for 3 weeks then did about 4-5oz every 2-3 hours. I just fed her when she was hungry and that worked for us. Shes now 15 weeks and has anything from 4-7oz per feed whenever she wants it. Shes now just over a stone HV and midwife said it was fine aslong as we were both happy. What you're doing sounds spot on to me x

Can't remember how much he had but I was lucky if I got 2 hours between bottles during the day with DS at times when he was little.

Thank you both. I'll just go with it. The last one he had, he vomited loads straight after so I really don't know if he's just being greedy 🙈 he has a dummy but it doesn't settle him really, he goes daft sucking it then spits it out and screams when nothing comes out of it 🙈
