Babbling & imitation

Hi,
My 8 month old little boy isn’t imitating me & we have very little sporadic babbling not constant ababababa like I hear babies doing, he doesn’t do the back & forth communication thing.
However he is sitting, rolling and trying to crawl is smiling at people when out and laughs a lot he is very aware of his surroundings and is very nosey.
When I stick my tongue out for example he will just laugh at me.
Should he be doing this and babbling more by now? Thank you x

He's 8 months old, chill out! They learn in their own time and it's not linear development. He sounds like he's doing really well with all his other skills.

I don't know what they're meant to be doing when but DS did the sticky out tongue thing at 2-3 months and then stopped bothering. Babbling came pretty late and he didn't start babbling lots all day till after his birthday.

My boy is 12 months and isn't focussed on "communication" so to speak. He is much more interested in gross and fine motor skills. He doesn't say any consonants. I'm not worried as he is developing so well in other areas. He will get there don't worry :)

I think every baby is so different. My baby started trying to copy noises & imitate me at 3 months but now he’s 4 months and shows no sign of trying to roll over or sit up which our HV said he’d be doing now x
