Hi I am looking for practical advice on taking these two ages of children for a day out (eek!). Oldest is my ds, youngest is mindee who is happy laid back baby. I have a double side by side buggy, or a single buggy, but oldest will still need afternoon nap, and was pondering options I could use ie buggy board for eldest or rucksack type carrier for littlest?

What do you all do on days out to make it easier? I as always really confident taking ds out and about as a baby and we would go all over the country on the train, it is more than logistics of this combination of ages that are lost on me so any advice, top tips really appreciated!

2 years and 11 months. ds2 is very laid back too! lol
i always take double buggy so both can kip but mine is tandem so i find it a bit easier to push with one hand if ds1 wants to walk holding my hand. if i take the single buggy ds1 decides he does not want to walk and it turns into a nightmare!!
if i take ds2 in a carrier, he cant sleep. plus he weighs at least 20lbs!
i also use a wrist strap for ds1 if i need to, some days he walks fine but others he is dead set on getting run over, but these are very contraversial!! (sp?)

My ds slipped out of his wrist strap in the National Railway Museum - it traumatised us and now we stick to reins!

I don't think littlest would sleep in a carrier either, and would pull my hair out too! Am beginning to wish I had a tandem now - sigh!
