There's so much negativity right now, thought I'd start a nice thread Thanks

I have a 16 month old DS and we're currently on our first holiday, I'm amazed with how much of a funny, kind, bright, helpful, happy, amazing little boy he's turning into, it melts my heart!
I just stare at him and wonder how I ever got so lucky!

Does anyone want to share any stories of someone they love? Son, daughter, niece, nephew, dog, cat, goldfish?? Anyone at all, let's get a nice thread going Thanks

Aww this is nice! Mine is nearly 16 months too, it’s such a great age. You really start to see their personality shining through and I just love my DS more everyday.

Elllicam · 28/08/2019 20:36

My youngest is 8 months and he is my absolute heart (along with his brothers). He was in hospital this week and even when he was really sick he was laughing and smiling.

Livebythecoast · 28/08/2019 20:38

Awww, what a lovely thread.
So lovely to hear parents talk positively about their children.
I didn't have work today so spontaneously asked my DD15 if she'd like to go out to lunch. To my surprise she said yes and we had a lovely day and that's when I remember , throughout all the teenage angst, moodiness etc that she's still my gorgeous baby girl and I love her so very much (even though I might not like what she does, how she behaves sometimes) I love her unconditionally and I'll always be proud to be her Mum.
OP, enjoy your baby boy and treasure every second x

My DS is nearly 7 months and is an absolute joy.

Sometimes I just stare at him. He’s wonderful.

I love when I go to get him after nap time and he wriggles like a salmon as he’s so excited to see me.

Snazzygoldfish · 28/08/2019 20:46

Ah these are so lovely to read. My little one is adopted and every day I feel so grateful to have him. I worked out recently that if all my previous attempts to become a mum had worked out (miscarriages, ivf, failed adoption links) I would be a mum of 7!! As it is I'm a mum of one beautiful boy who makes up for the sadnesses a million fold. Sending love to all parents tonight no matter how they came to be x

chocpop · 28/08/2019 20:47

Lovely thread :)

My story is a little different. I had a difficult birth, EMCS and struggled with PND afterwards. DD is 7 months now, she's crawling and cruising and I absolutely love this stage so much. It's a shame a lot of stuff overshadowed the 'baby' stage for me, but I couldn't be happier right now. She's such a happy little girl and she brings so much joy to our lives. I love seeing her explore around her and try to walk even though she's still so little! She's such a determined baby and a blessing to us

littlemama18 · 28/08/2019 20:48

@Snazzygoldfish I'm so happy for you that you found your little boy and he makes up for all the sadness! Such an amazing story Thanks

@Sexnotgender

I love that little excited wiggle so much! It makes my heart sing every time!

NewAccount270219 · 28/08/2019 20:50

This is such a gorgeous thread. I am particularly heartened by the mum of a teen who posted!

DS is nearly 14 months and such an absolute joy. He makes me laugh so much, and he has so many cute little mannerisms, and such a big personality. When I say 'cuddle' he comes over and throws his arms around me and it is the single best feeling I have ever had. Part of me wishes I could freeze time and keep him just like this, forever. But another part is enjoying watching him leave new things so much that I can't wait to see what he does next!

NewAccount270219 · 28/08/2019 20:50

*learn not leave new things!

iklboo · 28/08/2019 20:51

DS is nearly 14 and came into our room last night for cuddles & Bake Off.

littlemama18 · 28/08/2019 20:53

@chocpop I'm so glad you got past such a hard time and are feeling better and get to enjoy your baby girl ❤️

@littlemama18 - and we have Secret Crumpet Club Grin

Hot buttered crumpets watching TV when DH is at work (DH knows but it started when DS was little and the name's stuck).

Namechange8471 · 28/08/2019 21:04

Lovely thread idea ❤.

I'm proud of my dd (10) , she has high functioning autism and is turning into a lovely little lady.

Her end of school report she got excellent effort in every subject. It makes me so proud she always has friends calling round and loves playing out on her bike.

Catmum41 · 28/08/2019 21:04

ive just got home from a 12 hour shift. my husband has been at work too. dd 15 has cleaned the house and cooked dinner for us all. She is usually so bloody lazy! Hopefully this is the start of something......

katienana · 28/08/2019 21:15

My children are my absolute world. My eldest is 6 and he's so bright and inquisitive I cant keep up with the questions he asks and his crazy ideas. He's also very handsome and affectionate and pays me loads of compliments! My youngest is 3 and he is an absolute dream. He has such a cute little high pitched voice and funny little turns of phrase "I am doing it on my own self" "probably I will go swimming" "my brother is putting her shoes on". He is really gentle with me and has started a new game sneaking up and giving me kisses!
Lovely idea for a thread OP

WinterRose92 · 28/08/2019 21:15

Love this thread - such a lovely idea!
I have a son who will be 3 in December & he is such a sweetheart, so loving and kind. He does have his toddler moments but the lovely things outweigh the tantrums!
I’m going into hospital tomorrow to be induced, he’s having a little sister. He knows there is a baby in my belly and kisses it in the morning and sings her a song.
He’s constantly asking if I’m okay and has been strangely protective of me for the last few weeks.
Today I felt a little emotional as it’s our last day as a 3 before she comes along. He seemed to sense this and was happy to just sit in the sofa next to me, holding my hand.
Love him ❤️

neverornow · 28/08/2019 21:44

Yes! Just this evening I was looking at my 18 month old playing away happily and welled up. He's such a lovely little boy, I still can't believe that he's mine! Thanks

BeverlyGoldbergsHairAndJumpers · 28/08/2019 21:49

I am obsessed with my baby and when I look at him I feel all emotional. He’s 21!

BooseysMom · 28/08/2019 21:55

@WinterRose92 .. your msg made me cry! I have an image of him sat with you holding your hand. What an absolute star! Congratulations & good luck for tomorrow Flowers

BakewellGin1 · 28/08/2019 21:55

Oldest DS10 is an absolute gem and I am so proud of him. He became a big brother 5 months ago and loves his baby brother to bits which is adorable.

Baby DS was left with GM when I went to work yesterday and was so excited to see me afterwards it was lovely.

Honestly I could spend all day every day with the pair of them. We've had so much fun whilst I have been on mat leave Grin

Poetryinaction · 28/08/2019 22:59

My 18 month old.
She kisses and cuddles her siblings when they cry.
She waters our plants.
She shares her food.
She is so blinking kind and sweet.
And she wakes me up every morning shouting 'get uuup!'.
But she is so happy when I get her porridge. She loves her food, and cheers at dinner time 'yeeahh, dinner! Dinner!'.
She makes me feel so loved and important. She's so cute and so loved and so easy at this age.

lifesnotaspectatorsport · 29/08/2019 18:48

Love this thread. I have a little boy who's 2 and he's just the sweetest, funniest, loveliest child. Tonight I was giving him a good night hug and he buried his face in my chest and said 'I love you sooo much, mummy!' 🥰

littlemama18 · 29/08/2019 21:10

All these replies are so lovely Thanks we're all such lucky mamas!
