What’s everyone doing with their toddlers in this weather?

What’s everyone doing with their children today? Specifically with toddlers? It’s 32 degrees where I am (London)
My girl is 20 months and I have no idea what to do with her in this heat. I want to take her out somewhere (preferably free?) as I went for a day out with my partner yesterday and she was at my mums all day so I don’t really want to keep her indoors. Also something that will really tire her out as she hasn’t been sleeping well at all (goes to bed at 8.30 wakes up at 2am and refuses to go back to her cot).
Thanks!

Park? For a nice walk in the woods or something similar (we have a lovely canal 5 mins away)
Sometimes we go animal spotting looking for footprints and I teach DD about the different birds etc

Check out hoop app as well they sometimes have decent family events on

Swimming/paddling in rock pools at the beach/to the park/lots of woodland walks/in the paddling pool in the garden under a gazebo.

My DS (15months) really struggles in this heat!

Obviously we didn't do all of that today. We're not superhuman. Haha. I just thought I'd throw some ideas your way.

We went to swimming and soft play today (same venue). Had the place completely to ourselves as everyone else was outside enjoying the sunshine Grin.

We spent the two days before that outside and I was sick of suncream and hat battles. We are outside for hours in all weather every day usually and I find hot weather the hardest to deal with with two toddlers.

It was actually a really nice relaxing day today. Because we were the only people there I could let them go a bit more freely (on the soft play) and actually got to enjoy a hot coffee rather than hovering.

Today we did park at 9am, then went to two shops with air con (one was a big Sainsbury’s). Got my kids a muffin in the cafe before shopping. Stopped by book section so they can look at books. Spent about an hour in the shop. This covered us all morning. At noon - let them watch two hours of tv before we headed out again at 2pm for swimming. Hard to entertain all day in this heat!! When we are out and about I’m strict w no phone or screen. But if it’s so hot at home I let them watch as it’s almost too hot to do anything!! You could go to shopping mall as well to walk around and explore the shops.
