Best double for two under two

Due to have DC2 in January and will have a 20month old so think we will need a double buggy of some sort. I will probably put baby in a sling for some things but would like somewhere when I can put the baby down and/or contain DS when I'm out on my own.

I've been looking at the mountain buggy duet as apparently it's narrow, and the baby jogger city mini double. Not sure how narrow this is though!? I like the idea of a tandem (not so big) but not sure DS would be happy sat at the bottom for very long, so have persevered looking at side by sides. I would like one where I can clip the car seat onto one side if this is even a possibility? We live in a city but do do some woodland walking so don't think the nano or similar would be suitable. It also needs to be suitable from birth without a bassinet if possible.

If anyone has any advice or other recommendations that would be really helpful.

Friend of mine has 18m between hers and has the MB duet. It is slim and she has no issues getting it about anywhere. I considered it for myself (2.3 yr gap) but decided I preferred a tandem so I could use in both double and single mode as DD is at the CM 4 days a week and pushing a double with one child seems a bit odd to me! I have a p&t dash that I got second hand off eBay. Baby can lie flat in main seat (I also have a cocoon which slips inside the seat) and DD goes in the second seat which is up high. The second seat can also go under the main seat if it’s not lying flat or if I’m using the car seat. She loves being underneath in the low seat, so maybe take you DS to try one out and see if he likes it too?

I had MB Duet with 22 month gap and really liked it. It is amazingly narrow. Goes through nearly all single doors and on all buses. I had carrycot insert for the baby.

You can't clip carseat on but I had that option with my single and only ever did it once in an emergency. Never got the point of it really and hated the one time I did do it.

I have a 16 month gap and had a tandem. The toddler say on top while the baby laid flat, you get adapters for the bumper bar so the the bottom seat fits on. My only issue was the baby was happy laying flat till 3 months but then she wanted to sit up so she had to be on top all the time with a newborn insert so she was snug and supported. The toddler quite liked being underneath she used to have fun scaring people perfect dog and cat viewing height too!! We got a Phil and Ted dot it's good as a single too and we've only just got rid now the eldest is 4
