After some pram advice

Currently have a cosatto giggle, very pretty but I should have researched more before I got it. My 7 month old hates the car seat (it's a five point harness) and the pram bit is so uncomfortable looking she plays up all the time. When she sleeps in it, it looks awkward (yes I have it set up right)

I'm after some advice for pram that have longevity, comfortable for babies to sleep in if needed, ideally not a five point harness if it has a bar over the top.

What are people's favourites?

Also car seat recommendations again three point harness instead of five.

I have looked online but would like real people views

Hi OP. I can't be much help as I also have the giggle. However I am curious as to what you mean when you say she looks uncomfortable in the pram? Are you talking about the bassinet or the pushchair seat? If the latter, I bought my boy a padded insert to help cushion him slightly. You can get some really fancy ones but this was relatively cheap and he seems to prefer it now. Could this be an option to try before you buy a new one? Also, she probably won't be in the car seat much longer I wouldn't think before you need the next size?

I have the Cosatto Giggle and DS is very comfortable in it. Have you put in the padded insert? Also, you can use the harness as a 3 point harness. You don't need to add in the top straps for it to fasten.

Car seat, you're best looking at a car seat that can rear face up to 25kg now.

Thank you, I'll check them out on eBay. I suppose as long as they're supervised, it should be okay.

I don't think you will find a car seat with a 3 point harness unfortunately. As far as i am aware they are all 5 point harnesses for safety reasons.

The maxi cosi infant car seat I had for my elder 2 had a 3-point harness. When you get to stage 1+ I think they all have 5 points. But likely your little one will need the next stage in a few months so I'm not sure I'd bother!
Bucket seats always look uncomfy. Is she world or parent facing? If she is world facing, there are quite a few options. Cossato I know do a few lie-flat strollers, as do a lot of other brands! Silver Cross have Horizon and Pursuit that are parent facing with a lie flat seat. Bugaboo bee too. Other brands may have them too but not sure which. Certainly more options for comfier seats when world facing

Thank you for your replies

I have a silver cross three point car seat as well and she's not as "bucketed/bunched" as she is in the cosatto car seat. She's more V shaped than U shaped in the cosatto if you get what I man and that's why I say she looks uncomfortable in it, plus the fact she always cries and fights when she's put in the cosatto one. Unfortunately the silver cross is an old original model and doesn't go on any prams other wise I would just use that one.

The pram part itself (don't use the bassinet anymore, she only used it for a few weeks) just doesn't look nice for her to sleep in when she falls asleep, no padding, quiet open for her head to knock about in and just seems more upright even when reclined.

I know I should have done more research prior to having her and I agree she's probably going to be changing car seats soon anyway.

Just didn't know if it was worth getting a pram and a separate car seat which will do her for a few years or get a whole pram set again

Thanks again for your advice

We had a Baby Jogger Elite with a maxi cosi pebble car seat. Ours grew out of their car seat at 9/10 months as they were both tall, so I think it depends how much use your child would get out of another car seat.
The only thing I didn't like about the elite was that it didn't parent face, but the premier does and I wish I'd bought that.
The Elite is great for off-roading and my 5 year old still uses it on occasion.
