Where do you buy your cloth nappies from?

Just that really - I’ve decided to take the plunge (9 months in, a bit late but I needed to wait till I was back at work for the initial outlay).

We’ve decided to go with all in ones, and ordered two different types to try. I’ve looked at buying second hand as we’d struggle to buy a stash new, but where on earth do you get them from?

I’m now part of some selling sites for cloth nappies on Facebook but it seems that you have to catch the posts literally within minutes of them coming on in order to actually get anywhere. Same for eBay. It would seem that cloth all in ones are big business second hand!

Anyone know of another way round it? Or lesser known brands that are still good? Baby is chunky and reflux, so the stretchier the fit the better.

We’ve gotten most of our secondhand ones through Facebook market place. I’ve never had much luck with being quick enough on the groups either. We use a mixture of Totsbots, bumgenius and bambino mio aio’s, but I actually really like pocket nappies as well especially for how quickly they dry. Most of our pockets are littles and bloom cheapies from amazon. They’re amazing and never had a leak from them. Lovely prints too.

Oh also the nappy lady of course. If you’re local ish (Farnham) you can go to your house and she’ll help you try and load of styles and advise brands based on the shape of your baby, budget and needs. Assuming she still does that, I went 4 years ago now.

Not an expert on fb, can you get notices on your phone when there's been a group post?

Also have you looked to see if your council offer a nappy scheme? Some councils will give you a voucher up til your baby is a year old or so worth up to about £40 or starter packs so worth checking!

Also local nappy libraries change their stock around or get donations they'll not use so might be worth asking if they have any to sell.

Also have been selling Bambino Mio AIO's this last week for, I think, £8.99 instead of £16. Might still have a few in your local store depending on demand in your area.

ALDI not also!

Jamhandprints · 22/08/2019 20:35

Asda and everywhere sell Bambino mio all in ones, but I'd advise you to try a Littles and Bloomz pocket. It goes on like and all in one, but you just take the inserts out when you wash it. Which makes it easier to wash and dry. They're available on Amazon quite cheap so you could get one to try.

Baba& boo, Nature babies, Fill your pants, Nappy lady. Facebook. There are loads of places if you contact your council they may have a list of local surpliers.

You can put up an 'ISO' (in search of) post on the cloth nappy groups if you know what you're looking for. I did and I managed to buy 24 nappies by the end of the day.

Oooh thanks guys, this is very helpful. DH keeps saying that I’m being ridiculous and it’s ‘too late’ to get started but I’m keen!

No vouchers in our area sadly, they do trial kits but all are currently booked out.

We use littles and blooms, cheapest on eBay! I love them

Jamhandprints · 23/08/2019 20:58

Not too late, think how many nappies you will be NOT sending to landfill each week that you do this. :-) Well done OP!
