Hi. I am not the typical 'single parent' however am 90% of the time as Dad lives in the US and we can't look at visas until there are a few things sorted , so that could be a year plus. He comes over when he can but obviously, I am alone the majority of the time. It is extremely difficult as I have a very needy baby and am starting to become extraordinarily exhausted both psychically and mentally. I just wondered if any single mums of particularly difficult babies can offer some handy advice? How do you cope? How do you make days easier? Anything, even a chat as I don't even have friends per say. That's sad I know. Thank you xxx

Hi! Sorry you're feeling so exhausted :( I'm also a single parent as my sons dad isn't involved, he is 16 months and while amazing he can be quite a handful sometimes! How old is your little one? Have you got any family around you who might be able to help out when you need a break? I'm lucky that my mum helps me out every now and then so I get a break but apart from that all of my 'me time' is when he is napping or asleep at night! I try to get all my cleaning done while he is still awake and get him to bed as early as possible so I get a good few hours to relax at night! Hope you're okay you're doing an amazing job by yourself and it won't be long until everything gets sorted Thanks

I try to get myself out everyday even if I'm not feeling to up to it, like just a walk in the park or baby groups are good for making friends with kids of a similar age! If you get in touch with your local health centre they will be able to tell you when all the groups are on or there's a really good app called 'hoop' with them all on! X
