Signing with 17mo - no time to go to a class

Can any recommend resources (books, videos, etc) or other ways to start doing a bit of signing with a 17mo when doing a class isn't really an option because I'm back at work a long time now and also have older DC?

Not-really-relevant context, DS2 is obviously so hugely enamoured of being able to say "yes" and shake his head "no" to us now and it makes him so happy to be able to communicate that bit better, so I'd love to introduce a few signs.

You can buy sing and sign DVDs or you could watch Mr Tumble on Ceebies.

Me tumble/ something special. Pick the episodes that look interesting.
Loads you tube videos- baby sign/ makaton.
It actually doesn’t matter what you sign, so long as you use a consistent action each time.

Has anyone got older DC involved in it too? DS1 is nearly 5 and is DS2's favourite thing in the whole world, although I don't know if he'd have the concentration and consistency to help.

Signs work best when you use a few all the time. So every time you say more you sign more. Do they use any signs in the childcare setting you use?

Just make sure you are consistent with the signs you use, BSL and Makaton have similar signs but different word order, ASL is totally different.

Both Something Special and |Mr Tumble are Makaton.

Makaton was developed from BSL signs to help people with learning disabilities communicate. BDL and ASL are complete languages.
