Baby carrier recommendations for the best support?

I have a much heavier than average 7 month old baby and I gave up on carrying as it in my back and pulling my shoulders.

Is there any carriers that are good for front and back carrying?

I think the Ergo Baby 360 is meant to be one of the best. We didn't get on with it and have switched to a Baby Bjorn carrier.

You definitely need something with good lower back support and a strap that runs between the shoulders too.

Ergobaby original. So comfortable.

We have an ergobaby 360 omni, DS is eight months and was 19 pounds 2 when he was weighed a couple of weeks ago. I can carry him for ages in it and he's very comfortable. I put him in the soft fabric sling I used when he was tiny a few weeks ago just to see if he still liked it, he did, I didn't!

Meant to say you can front, back and hip carry with the 360 Omni

Ergo 360 is fab. My 9 month old is 99th centile for weight and length, this is definitely the most comfortable carrier.

Tula is amazing - really thick cushioned straps and very supportive to baby!

Mrsducky88 · 16/08/2019 15:49

Tula, manducca, ergo. Do you have a sling library nearby to try some out?

DandyLyon · 16/08/2019 15:52

Definitely can recommend the ergo 360

beepbeep321 · 16/08/2019 15:53

I also recommend the Tula. Would also recommend going to your local sling library to find one that suits you and your needs.

Beco Gemini. I still comfortably carry my 19 month old in it on front and my 3.5 year old on back. It's brilliant.

Seconding Beco Gemini. Whatever you get make sure it has good lumbar support

I carry my 19lb 11 month old in the ergo 360. I dog walk for up to 3 hours everyday

Ergo omni 360 - still carry my 16 month old in it!
